Follow our Journey

My next major trip won’t be until after I graduate from university at the end of 2010, its a long way off but I’ve already started thinking about where I want to go and what I want to do. I’m planning on travelling through the United States of America and Canada. The plan is to get a working holiday visa for Canada (click here for more information) so that once we have travelled for about a month we can base ourselves in Canada, earn a bit of money to help fund our trips and just to see what it is like living and working in another country. Two of my friends; Ben and Liz are also looking into the idea, hopefully I’ll be travelling with both of them!

The Map

Below is a map of all the places we wish to see, it’s rather ambitious and naturally we won’t be able to see all of them due to money and time contstraints but we plan on seeing as much as we possibily can.

As the time gets closer we will update the map with all sorts of information and I’ll even add photos, videos, reviews and the routes we’ve taken to get to each place. I’m also going to be doing regular blog updates which will hopefully inspire and help others to follow our footsteps, that is if the travel bug hasn’t already bitten them!

Things to do

Some of the exciting things I would love to do are:

Lake Louise - Kayaking

  • Hike through the rocky mountains and numerous other trails which showcase Canada’s natural beauties.
  • Kayak in Lake Louise, which if the photos are correct this will hopefully be a highlight.
  • Camp
  • Watch an ice hockey match.
  • Snowboard in one of the top mountains in the world; Whislter.
  • Meet new people from different walks of life.
  • See native animals of Canada and the United States.
  • Learn about Canadian and American history.
