A Weekend in Wollongong
This weekend I decided to go to Wollongong, I had a good time Ben came and I also met up with a friend that I actually met on the plane to England! She is from Manchester but is doing another six months in Australia studying her degree at the University of Newcastle.
Ben and myself started the night by going to McDonald’s before we hit up his auntie’s place that unlocks the door to a room to where there was another key that we could use to open the house door! We then proceeded to eat at McDonald’s and ’sip’ ( devour is probably a more accurate term) our wine, we thought ourselves were quite classy (what kind of rich person doesn’t eat McDonalds and sip wine!). We then managed to get to the Harp without letting on to Ben’s Nan (who drove us there) that we may have been slightly tipsy.
Ben wanted more wine at the Harp and I said why not and like the classy gents we are we asked the bar girls what would be a suitable drink, they offcause wern’t classy like us and didn’t drink wine. It didn’t help that they only had two different types of bottles anyway, so we naturally picked the one we had thought we’d heard of before. Before we left the bar I told the girls an embarassing story of Bens’ and so for the rest of our time their they reminded us not spew outside our car window on the way home hehe.
We met up with my friend from England talked for a while and then we went to McDonalds again… though I have no idea why I don’t think anyone bought anything there. We then went to the glasshouse which was absolutely packed out. It was good, just it was extremely hot inside, though that didn’t seem to be a problem for one of my freinds after 5 minutes as they were kicked out and told to come back when he had sobered up! They ended up getting back in after they had spewed a few times and it ended up being a pretty decent night. We got a taxi to Ben’s Auntie’s house and Ben stumbed (and I may have a little bit..
) inside and crashed out.
We woke up about 7 AM to the sound of kids screaming, it definitely not the thing you want to hear after a big night out! We hung around and had pancakes until the alcohol had left my system so that I could drive. We went to the Crown Central mall and eventually we found a nice Thai restaurant that was really cheap, which is good because Thai is one of my favourite foods! Then we went to the beach and acted all touristy with Hayley (my english friend), it was pretty obvious she doesn’t get as nice beaches back home. Overall it was a pretty good weekend so I’m glad that I ended up going.
